Ferry to Tangiers

Last minute change of plans when we arrived in Algeciras, Spain. While we'd discussed possibly going over to see Gibraltar, we decided that the earlier we get to Morocco the better, so we don't risk having to drive after dark. Also, there are two arrival ports in Tangiers: Tangiers Med, an industrial port that is a 45 minute bus ride from central Tangiers, or Tangiers Ville, basically about a mile from the center of town. Clearly Tangiers Ville is more convenient, except that it doesn't depart from Algeciras, it leaves from Tarifa, 20 miles west. So we decided to get the earliest, most convenient ferry to Tangiers. It was worth the €28 taxi ride to Tarifa to save close to two hours. Unfortunately road construction delayed us in the taxi, so after it dropped us off we had to run as fast as we could with all our luggage and just barely made it - seconds to spare!!

The line behind Devin in the second photo is the queue for passport control on the ferry. They check and stamp your passport on board so you don't have to wait in line on arrival.
