Mercedes Taxi

The Mercedes Benz W123 model sold from the mid 70s through the mid 80s became in my mind the quintessential North African/Moroccan taxi. While this was my first time to Morroco, photos show the streets just flooded with these. There are a ton still in service, and I wouldn't doubt that many have mileage well into seven figures. These predate the Mercedes filled with buggy electronics, so they are supposedly rugged as anything. However, they are definitely outnumbered anymore at least in cities, by modern Romanian-built Dacia Logan sedans and Dacia Lodgy wagons (Dacia is owned by Renault). The Mercedes
still seem to be the car of choice for grand taxis operating longer distances between towns.
